An expanded version of two letters, addressed through the Norwich Mercury to John Weyland MP, inscribed to Lord Suffield who had signified his wish to see the material. Stitched as issued and with soiled paper covers. Wear and small tears to the edges, staining to the bottom left corner of the first few pages and with a crease to the final page and rear cover. 11 volume set rebound in black 1/4 calf binding with marbled boards. All the bindings are in fine clean condition. Title and volume number in bright gilt to the spines which have 5 raised bands. All maps and engravings as called for with the map of Norwich cloth backed. The page edges are untrimmed and have some wear and soiling but the contents are all in very good condition bar a little light foxing to parts. A very reasonably priced set. Blomefield's History of Norfolk. Five volume folio first edition (1739 to 1775) Half Gilt Calf with raised bands and marbled boards. All joints split but holding. Labelled 'Parkins Hist of Norfolk' (who completed the history after Blomefield's death). A sound tight clean set. Volume I lacking pedigree of Blomefield + the 13 page introduction (rarely present), Volume II lacking plan of Norwich (rarely present), Volume III lacking plate of Monument of Marsham. Sets of the 1st edition almost never have the full complement of plates but this set is more complete than other sets offered recently. In a contemporary binding.
