The card covers are worn, including to all the corners, and are also soiled but are otherwise sound. The inside cover has inked 'Masters' Reference Library' and there are stamps inside the rear cover and facing page. Disbound copy with soiling to the page edges. Upper and lower cloth boards are present along with about half of the spine including an incomplete and soiled paper title. Free endpapers present and with the ffep having an ink inscription relating that this is a presentation copy from Hudson Gurney in 1842. Also laid down are two very small clippings announcing the death of Gurney and his wife plus an engraved Henry Birkbeck bookplate to the loose upper board.
